According to the research data, over these years, 14 million tons of Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5) and 2 million tons of Black Carbon (BC) were emitted into the atmosphere annually. As is shown in Figure 1, the air condition in Beijing was so poor that the whole city was enveloped with the haze.
